Park Place wins another Silver Maple Leaf Award, with a little help from KICK

Lethbridge, AB: Park Place Shopping Centre was awarded a Silver Maple Leaf Award from the International Council of Shopping Centers at the ICSC Canadian Shopping Centre Awards this past Wednesday night in Toronto. Park Place was one of 8 finalists from across the Country. The award was presented for their marketing program entitled "Fashion at Work".

Park Place is Lethbridge's premier shopping destination, but in early 2009 the centre was starting to feel the effects of a weakening economy. To stimulate sales and traffic during the first two weeks of February, the centre created "Fashion at Work"; a centre wide merchandising event: a creative campaign developed by KICK Creative Group Inc. As part of the program, Park Place teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for a promotion entitled "The House that Lethbridge Built". Park Place purchased enough 2x4's to build a house and asked shoppers to sign them with a message of hope. Over 6,000 signatures were received. The program drove both traffic and sales for the centre during a time of significant economic slowdown.

"Park Place continues to develop exciting strategies that our team loves to get involved with. This Silver Maple Leaf Award is another fantastic accomplishment that demonstrates the marketing savvy of our client, and the creativity of our team,” comments Michelle MacLean, project manager at KICK Creative Group. “I could not be happier for them, and for our team; it is a reflection of the great teamwork we have when working with our clients at KICK.”

The award was presented this past Thursday in Toronto to Darren Milne, Marketing/Specialty Leasing Manager, Kevin Brees, Operations Manager, Cory Hartwick, Marketing/Specialty Leasing Coordinator, Daryl Babb, General Manager, and Mary Vallee, Director of Marketing with Oxford Properties Group.
