About Us
History
In the seven years we have been in operation, we have achieved many milestones. Here are just some of the highlights of our agency.
September 2009 - Park Place Shopping Centre was awarded a Silver Maple Leaf Award from the International Council of Shopping Centers at the ICSC Canadian Shopping Centre Awards. Park Place was one of 8 finalists from across the Country. The award was presented for the marketing program entitled "Fashion at Work" – all creative developed by KICK.
October 2008 - Silver Maple Leaf Award from the International Council of Shopping Centers at the ICSC Canadian Shopping Centre Awards. Park Place was one of 8 finalists from across the Country. The award was presented for the marketing program developed with KICK, titled "True Love Comes in a Size 7!".
2008 – KICK Creative Group Inc. wins three international awards in design with the Summit Creative Awards
2006 to 2007 – Michelle MacLean served as a Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce Board Member.
2006 – KICK established a membership with the Better Business Bureau; a step that would help others recognize our agency as a business with a solid reputation.
Fall of 2005 – KICK agrees to participate as a Gold Sponsor for the Chinook Entrepreneurial Challenge. This is one way that KICK gives back to the business community in Southeast Alberta. We remain a sponsor of this program yet today.
2006 – KICK is the winner of the Bow Island Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award, for Innovative Business of the Year.
2005 – KICK is a finalist for the Small Business of the Year with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce.
2005 – KICK is one of three finalists in the Medicine Hat Chamber Business of the Year Awards in the category of Innovative Business of the Year.
2005 – KICK is nominated and becomes one of three finalists in their category with the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction.
2005 – KICK Creative Group Inc. becomes involved with the Canbra Foods/Canola Harvest Charity Golf Classic; a project that KICK continues to participate in today. By volunteering our design and marketing services, KICK is able to support many local charities and organizations. Our efforts have helped Canbra (now Richardson Oilseed) raise over $1 million.
June 2004 – KICK Creative Group Inc. becomes an incorporated company.
2003 – Michelle MacLean became the Chair of the Bow Island Economic Development Committee, and also served as a director on the Board for the Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta. Both of these positions were maintained by Michelle until the spring of 2008.
January 2003 – The name BRAVA was challenged by another agency in a larger market. Despite diligent efforts when registering our name, as well as following the proper legal channels, we soon discovered it would have to be changed. This challenge became an opportunity to focus our corporate identity on what we’re really about – giving our clients what they need to kick their communications into high gear and add to their bottom-line. We recognized what the ‘right’ thing to do was in this situation (accept the legal registration of a company that existed just month’s before us) and used a potential negative to make a positive for KICK.
2002 – Established memberships with the Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Bow Island Chambers of Commerce. Also established the proper business licenses in each of these markets. All of these memberships and licenses are maintained and renewed on an annual basis.
October 2002 – Established BRAVA Advertising & Design. It is a sole proprietorship that was founded by Michelle MacLean who has combined over fifteen years of experience and education in communications, advertising and marketing to develop the services that are offered through this agency.
